I bought these door guards for our new pick-up. Our doggos like to look out the windows & can scratch & drool on the surfaces. First we tried them with just the flaps that go between the window & door, but they came right out when we closed the door. We purchased sticky-back felt & cut it to cover the flaps. This worked until the doggo jumped up on the arm rest & it pulled right out again. The Velcro that came with the covers would not stick to our truck' interior at all. Our solution was to run a rubber band between 2 metal picture hangers & slip the end of the picture hangers between the metal & the plastic part of the door on each side. The rubber band stretches across the door from side to side & it stays put perfectly!

My dog gets very excited when people come up to the truck, and more so when there is another dog outside. The pocket lasted about one day before it was ripped down, and the fabric got holes in it from toenails. The velcro needs to go ALL the way across to stay in the window, as it won't hold up to being pawed and the fabric needs to be heavy-duty. If it was stout canvas, forget the pocket, had velcro all the way across, (so the number of tabs wouldn't matter) it might hold up to and 'active' dog. I will get more sticky-back velcro, and sew a piece of canvas to the top...and see how that works. Otherwise it is OK...a very nice idea..just needs work for a big dog.

I agree with other reviewers that the tabs are a bit short. This has not been an issue for us, however. I have two, 50-lb dogs and one that LOVES to stand on the door and stick her head out. The guards stayed in place perfectly during last weekend's drive. I didn't have any movement when rolling the window up or down.
I also fitted a pair of these in my mom's Chevy Malibu. The new car windows were tighter between the glass and the door. Another good fit.
Should these start to slip I will likely stick some thin felt on one side to bulk them up a bit. For now, they work great.

This isn't nothing better than a door guard for dogs. I don't have to worry about my door having scratches. And its safe for my pet and car. It's light weight. Easy to carry and installed into my vehicle with no issues. Easy to clean when needed as well.
